Strings will host our first Livestream concert Sunday October 25th at 7:30pm.

Maurice Tani & Mike Anderson

To view the livestream, click here Livestream

Singer-songwriter Maurice Tani is known for his wry-to-romantic songwriting, his deft yet graceful guitar style, and his expressive singing. But most of all, Maurice is a storyteller. He gives us tales of the day-to-day life of ordinary people, revealing the music in their hearts; he calls it a “cinema for the blind."

Tani's style of Americana (also known as folk/country or alt- neither reto nor new- country) displays a broad spectrum of musical influences; a tonic specially blended to cure what ails you.

“I was actually blown away. Maurice Tani writes songs that sound at once familiar, ethereal and beautiful...” -Robert Sproul, No Depression Magazine

He is accompanied tonight be long time co-conspirator and fine bassist Mike Anderson.

Strings is proud to present Maurice and Mike in our first ever livestream.

Stairwell Sisters 2013

For thirteen years, the Stairwell Sisters dazzled audiences from coast to coast with their own brand of traditional old-time songs and striking original tunes. Five fine songstresses, Evie, Lisa, Stephanie, Martha, Sue also handled multiple instruments (including feet!) with aplomb- mountain music with total commitment and unbridled energy, exuberance and abandon. It just doesn't get any better!
That they choose Strings for their farewell concert was a great honor for all of us involved. This week we present the first set from that historic event. (We'll have the second set up in a couple of weeks.)

Kleptograss 2008

Kleptograss is a bluegrass supergroup featuring Eric Thompson, Scott Nygaard, Paul Knight, Paul Shelasky, Tom Rozum, and Laurie Lewis. Kleptograss borrows freely from Appalachian mountain traditions, Puerto Rican jibaro, Western swing, Greek rembetikas, Irish reels, American blues, the music of Django Reinhardt and other disparate influences. Musical traditions from around the world distilled through bluegrass, old-time and Americana.
Last week to listen to Kleptograss.
