Strings' Recording Studio
Make a CD in less time with more credibility than studio-produced recordings.
Strings is the best of both worlds when it comes to recording live concerts. We have studio-quality equipment with two, separate mixes - one to the room and one to the recording. The room has high ceilings and good acoustics. The audience is hand-picked. There are no distractions, such as cash registers or cappuccino machines. We provide the quality of a studio with the excitement and energy of a live concert.
The process of recording a live album takes three evenings:
-
The first evening is spent choosing the microphones, performing an extensive sound check, making test recordings and setting microphone placement.
-
The second evening is the actual concert. Everything is set to go with the idea of forgetting about the recording and being able to concentrate on your performance. The first set lasts 50 minutes and the second set for 35 minutes. Set length is somewhat flexible. You will have more than an hour of actual recording time using this format. At the end of the evening, you will be given a CD of that evening's performance. Listen to it carefully the next day. If there is something that you wish to re-record or you have a song that was not included in the concert that you would like to add, you may do so during the third evening.
-
On the third evening, if you wish, you can invite a handful of friends and hang out in a very private, concert recording session. All the microphone settings and placements will be unchanged from the previous evening. The recording will fit seamlessly with the prior work. At that time, you will receive multi-track and stereo recordings of everything that was recorded during this process. We can also take your project to a final product.
